The combination of fresh fruits and chocolate is appealing thanks to its balance of sweetness and freshness. This easy-to-make treat is becoming more and more popular, especially during the summer. It’s an ideal way to consume differently, by highlighting seasonal produce and quality chocolate.

An Accessible Idea to Make at Home

Chocolate-covered fruits require no special equipment or advanced skills. It’s an activity you can do alone, with family, or with friends. It’s fun and also a good way to raise awareness—especially among young people—about more responsible eating habits.

In summer, this recipe is particularly successful: fruits are plentiful and there's a real need for refreshing snacks. Served cold, they make for a light, visually pleasing, and naturally sweet dessert.

A Simple and Effective Recipe

Here’s how to make your own chocolate-covered fruits at home:

Ingredients:

  • 200 g of dark chocolate (We recommend Lachua 70% )

  • 300 g of fresh fruits: strawberries, bananas, grapes, mango pieces...

  • Baking paper

  • Wooden skewers or a fork

Preparation:

  1. Wash and thoroughly dry the fruits (moisture prevents the chocolate from sticking).

  2. Melt the chocolate using a double boiler or in the microwave (in 30-second intervals, stirring in between).

  3. Dip each fruit into the melted chocolate using a skewer or fork.

  4. Place the coated fruits on a tray lined with baking paper.

  5. Refrigerate for 15 to 20 minutes until the chocolate sets.

Tip: Before the chocolate sets completely, you can sprinkle the coated fruits with chopped nuts, orange zest, or shredded coconut.
